Max. Size: 54 cm
Fun fact: The whole family of surgeonfishes is distinguished by the presence of one or more spine on the caudal peduncle (part of the body right before the tail fin). Their scientific name is from the Greek word “akonthos” which translates to “thorn”. These spines are used as weapons when needed.
