Also known as Threadfin butterflyfish. Diet: Tearing pieces from polychaetes, sea anemones, coral polyps and algae
Max. Size: 23 cm
Fun Fact: The name comes from the filament that hangs off the back of the dorsal fin in adult fish. The filament is formed by the fusing of the fifth and sixth filaments of the soft dorsal fin into a thread. The thread grows longer as the fish ages.
